It’s already the 8th edition of the International Festival of Storytelling. This year – as in every edition – we invited artists from different cultures and traditions, people known not only in the storytelling world, but also in the area of theatre or folk music. During the Festival will be presented both: the variety of traditional practics of storytelling and its modern, individual forms.

This year the leitmotif of the festival will be road stories and songs, the theme of wandering – how was it seen in different traditions? We will hear the stories derived from the tradition of Scottish travellers told by Jess Smith. Heidi Dahlsveen (Norway) will take us to the mythical Scandinavian land 1500 years ago. Kersti Ståbi’s stories and songs will allow us immersing in the landscape of far North of the Middle Ages. And Nick Hennessey will remind about time when harping meant just speaking and harpers were travelling the country, telling stories and singing songs.

Serge Tamas and Magda Lena Górska will show us the oddity of tropical islands of Caribbean Sea. Agnieszka Aysen Kaim will invite into the world of oriental traditions, whereas Księżycowo will carry listeners on a surreal travel to the moon – full of songs and lunar tales.

The main point of the Festival, as in every year, will be the Night of Storytelling – with performances of all the storytellers.
